The challenge
240 million children with disabilities live in low- and middle-income countries, about 85% worldwide. Stigma and discrimination often block access to education, healthcare and social life. Gender, ethnicity, conflict or crisis can make these barriers worse.
What we do
We work to create inclusive societies where children and youth with disabilities enjoy equal rights and opportunities. Change works best when communities lead, which is why we partner with local organisations, networks and disability rights groups.
How we work
We support local actors with five key enablers.
- 40+ years of expertise
- Diverse funding sources
- Fund management & technical support
- Equitable partnerships & knowledge exchange
- Mobility & technology access (with MIVA)
Our Theory of Change
This Theory of Change outlines how Liliane Fonds envisions impact. It provides the foundation for our Multi-Annual Strategy and guides our partnerships, programming and advocacy.

Strengthening our impact
To make these strategies effective and lasting, we invest in evidence and ensure young people with disabilities have a voice in shaping our work.
