Why attend
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) are under growing pressure worldwide. Every day, brave activists and organisations work to deliver essential services, push for legal and social change, and keep SRHR high on political agendas. Yet, in a context of shrinking civic space, reduced funding for SRHR, and a growing anti-gender movement, it is more important than ever to come together, share strategies, and shape a future where everyone can access SRHR, especially young people with disabilities.
On 21 October, we will create space for activists and civil society organizations from the Masarouna and Make Way programs to showcase their vital work, good practices, and lessons learned from South West Asia and North Africa (SWANA), East Africa, the Horn of Africa, and Southern Africa. Together with Dutch civil society (you!), we will reflect on these experiences and explore how we can collectively support activists and organisations in the Global Majority to work towards inclusive SRHR and who continue to defend SRHR in increasingly challenging contexts.
What to expect:
- Panel discussion with young activists from the Masarouna program and Make Way program managers, sharing best practices and key resources on intersectional SRHR
- Group discussions on intersectional SRHR, disability inclusion, funding for SRHR and meaningful participation of young people experiencing multiple and overlapping inequities
- At the end of the event there will be time for networking and some drinks and snacks will be served
