SRHR Next: Advancing inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
The SRHR Next Alliance is implementing a multi-country programme funded by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands and implemented by an alliance of 11 organisations across eight countries.
As the alliance’s disability inclusion expert, Liliane Fonds contributes its expertise to ensure that sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services, information and education are inclusive of youth with disabilities, while also managing the programme portfolio in Burkina Faso.

Context
Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are fundamental human rights. Yet millions of young people around the world, especially young people with disabilities, still face significant barriers to accessing information, healthcare and support services. Discrimination, stigma, lack of adapted health centers, disability knowledgable health workers and communication materials and harmful practices can limit their ability to make informed decisions and participate fully in society.
What we do
The programme strengthens access to inclusive sexual and reproductive health information, services and advocacy. Working alongside local civil society organisations, local government, youth groups and disability-inclusive organisations, the programme:
- Promotes access to qualitative, inclusive SRHR information and services.
- Strengthens the participation and leadership of young people, including young people with disabilities.
- Challenges stigma, discrimination and harmful social norms.
- Supports advocacy efforts aimed at improving laws, policies and public services.
- Encourages collaboration between communities, service providers and policymakers.
Local leadership is central to the programme. Activities are designed and implemented by organisations that understand the realities, priorities and expertise of their own communities.
Our role
Liliane Fonds contributes its expertise in network building, disability inclusion and community-based approaches. We support alliance partners in making SRHR programmes accessible and inclusive for young people with disabilities.
Our work focuses on:
- Strengthening disability-inclusive programming across the alliance.
- Promoting the meaningful participation and leadership of young people (with disabilities).
- Improving the accessibility of information, services and advocacy initiatives.
- Supporting partners to embed inclusion in SRHR policies, programming and monitoring processes.
- Managing and coordinating the Burkina Faso country portfolio.
