Liliane Fonds Empowers Positive Change at Ability Festival

In a powerful collaboration with Vice Versa Global and Tangaza University in Nairobi, Liliane Fonds played a role in sponsoring and supporting the Ability Celebration Festival on December 2, 2023. Under the theme “United in action to rescue and achieve the sustainable development goals for, with, and by persons with disabilities,” the festival sought to shift the narrative and highlight the untapped potential within the community of persons with disabilities.

Representing Liliane Fonds at the festival was strategic partner Cheshire Disability Service Kenya (CDSK). The collaboration aims to emphasize the importance of unity in working towards sustainable development goals that are inclusive and empowering for children and youth with disabilities.

The festival focused on tangible actions to contribute to the sustainable development goals. And serves as a platform for celebrating the diverse abilities of individuals with disabilities, fostering inclusivity and promoting empowerment within the community.

Future collaboration

Liliane Fonds continues to support the work needed towards inclusive education. From 2024 to 2026, Tangaza University and CDSK, will kick off the project on Inclusive Education for Institutions of Higher Learning. Tangaza University will partner with four other institutions to scale up and promote the different strategies to help each institution become disability-inclusive.
