Our dream

Equal rights and opportunities for children with a disability

Eight out of ten children with a disability live in the poorest parts of the world. These children are often not acknowledged, considered valuable human beings, and face prejudice and exclusion from society. As a result, they do not get enough – if any at all – opportunities to develop, follow education, and build an independent life.

Participation is a right

We dream of a world in which children and young people with a disability are equal and can participate in society to the best of their abilities. Together with our local Partner Organisations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, we make children’s living, playing, and learning environment more accessible. We improve their quality of life by creating opportunities for them in the present and future. Participation is not a privilege – it is a right.

Mission: What motivates us

We believe in the power of inclusive societies that enable children and young people with a disability in developing countries to fully participate.

Vision: What we want to achieve

We want inclusive societies with equal rights and opportunities for children and young people with a disability.

Strategy: Our approach

The Liliane Foundation uses the community based rehabilitation approach (CBR). Together with our local partners, we empower individual children and young people with a disability in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. We do this by:

  • Providing them with the best possible customised care;
  • Supporting them in their development ;
  • Making their environment more accessible.

We can do this thanks to the commitment of our donors and volunteers and the businesses, foundations, and knowledge institutions with whom we join forces.
