National Coordination Teams and Strategic Partner Organisations
National Coordination Teams
National Coordination Teams are coordinating bodies located in the various countries. They are responsible for the implementation and execution of the Liliane Foundation programme. They define a context analysis of the country and formulate a country policy. The country policy includes the focus areas health, education, work and income, and inclusion. Furthermore, they facilitate, monitor and evaluate the work of the network of partner organisations. And they are active in training partner organisations and mediators, networking and research.
Strategic Partner Organisations
The Strategic Partner Organisation is the formal employer of the National Coordination Team. In consultation with the Head office, the Strategic Partner Organisation assigns its staff, consisting of a Country Responsible, a Programme Responsible and a Finance Responsible. Together they are accountable for the implementation of the Liliane Foundation programme. The number of employees and names of the positions may differ per country. The overhead of the National Coordination Team is funded by the Liliane Foundation.
The Strategic Partner Organisations share the Liliane Foundation’s mission and vision. Their strategy and programmes in disability and development are in line with those of the Liliane Foundation. They are required to have human resource, organisational and institutional capacity to implement the joint programme. They should also be able to monitor the work and activities of the local Partner Organisations, thus strengthening the network at grassroots level.
In the coming years, the Liliane Foundation expects to strengthen its network of organisations in the countries where it operates. Where possible, the National Coordination Team will be embedded in the Strategic Partner Organisation. More precisely: all National Coordination Teams will become part of the working structure of the Strategic Partner Organisations. The Strategic Partner Organisations will receive funding to achieve this. The transition will take place gradually over the next five years.
